Chapter 4. Configuration Menus
Define LF Code
The DEFINE LF CODE (Define Line Feed Code) option controls the action
of the printer when it receives a Line Feed code (ØA hex) from the host
computer. If this feature is enabled, each time the printer receives a Line
Feed, it inserts an additional Carriage Return code (ØD hex) into the data
stream. This feature can be used in most installations, but it is required if the
host computer does not send Carriage Returns to the printer.
LF = LF (the default) produces a Line Feed.
LF = CR + LF adds an extra Carriage Return with each Line Feed.
FF Valid at TOF
The FF VALID AT TOF (Form Feed Valid at Top of Form) option
determines whether the printer will perform a Form Feed when the host
sends a Form Feed command, if the printer is at the Top of Form. The printer
will perform a Form Feed when the operator panel Form Feed key is
pressed, regardless of this option setting.
ENABLE (the default) performs a form feed when the host sends a Form
Feed command and the printer is at the top of form.
DISABLE will not perform a form feed when the host sends a Form
Feed command and the printer is at the Top of Form.
20 CPI Condensed
When the 20 CPI CONDENSED (20 Characters Per Inch Condensed) option
is enabled, and compressed print is chosen by the host computer, the printer
prints characters that are about 60 percent of the width of normal characters.
For example, a 12 CPI Draft font will compress to 20 CPI. This is helpful for
applications where you need to print the maximum amount of information on
a page.
ENABLE (the default) prints narrow characters when compressed print
is chosen by the host computer.
DISABLE will not compress the character widths, even if condensed
print is chosen by the host.
