Character Sets
This parameter selects a character set for the Serial Matrix emulation. Once
you have selected a character set, you must also define a print language for
that character set, described under the PRINT LANGUAGE option.
• IBM PC (the default)
• MULTINATIONAL
• ECMA LATIN 1
• DEC MULTINATIONAL
• OCR A
• OCR B
• 0858 PC EURO MULTILINGUAL
• 0923 LATIN 9 8859–15
NOTE: See the 6400 ASCII Programmer’s Reference Manual for more
information on character sets.
Print Language
If you selected one of the character sets other than OCR A/OCR B, 0858, or
0923 (which have only one available print language), you must also select a
print language for that character set. The print languages available for each
character set are shown in Figure 4–21. The default print language for each
character set follows:
• IBM PC: Default for Select Subset Primary is
ASCII (USA).
Default for Select Subset Extended is
0437 PC Character Set.
• MULTINATIONAL: Default is ASCII (USA).
• ECMA LATIN 1: Default for Select Subset Primary is
ASCII (USA).
Default for Select Subset Extended is
MULTINATIONAL.
• DEC MULTINATIONAL: Default is ASCII (USA).
