4. Lower the forms thickness lever. The CLOSE PLATEN fault clears
automatically. Set it to match the paper thickness. If you are using
single-part forms, set the forms thickness lever so that “A” is next to the
indicator (refer to note on shuttle cover). See Figure 2–50.
NOTE: Do not set the forms thickness lever too tightly; excessive friction
can cause paper jams and ribbon jams with potential for ribbon
damage, smeared ink, or wavy print.
5. Press Set Top of Form. The paper moves downward to the top-of-form
print position.
6. Continue with the next procedure to test the printer.
