Measuring continuity
The Model 2010 uses the 1k range to measure circuit continuity. After selecting continuity,
the unit prompts you for a threshold resistance level (1-1000). The Model 2010 alerts you
with a beep when a reading is below the set level.
To measure the continuity of a circuit, press SHIFT then CONT, set the threshold resistance
level, and connect the circuit.
NOTE Continuity has a non-selectable reading rate of FAST (0.1 PLC).
Connections
Connect the circuit you want to test to the INPUT HI and INPUT LO terminals of the
Model 2010. The test current flows from the INPUT HI as shown in Figure 2-10.
Threshold resistance level
You can define a threshold resistance from 1 to 1000. The factory setting is 10. Follow
these steps to define the resistance level:
1. Press SHIFT then CONT.
2. Use the and keys to choose a numerical place and use the and keys to
increment or decrement the digits. Enter a value from 1 to 1000.
3. Press ENTER to confirm your setting.
