LABORIE Goby Owner’s Manual GOBY-UM02 10
2.1.3 Caring for the Goby™ Hub
Before beginning cleaning procedure, disconnect the Goby™ Hub from power, stop the pump, power off the unit, and
disconnect the pump cable.
Wipe the Goby™ Hub with a clean cloth dampened with water and mild detergent. Ensure to remove pump tubing from
the pump and dispose at the completion of each test. If fluid spills in the pump head, use a mild solution of detergent and
water to clean the pump. Remove the pump door from the pump head and wash both sections thoroughly. The pump can
be removed from the
Goby™ Hub by turning the pump head counterclockwise 45° and sliding the pump forward; place
safely aside. Reassemble any disassembled parts and store the
Goby™ Hub in a cool and dry area at room temperature.
Refer to the
Specifications section on page 101.
WARNING:
• Do not use strong detergent reagents as they may damage the surface finish of the pump’s metal and plastic
casing.
• Do not immerse the GOBY™ Hub or its pump head in cleaning solution.
• Do not use excessive force when removing the pump door. Once removed from the pump head place the
pump door safely aside. Dropping the pump door may cause scratches and damage.
• The tubing set which is used with the pump system during Urodynamic measurements is intended for
single
use only
. It should not be cleaned and reused.
To check if the pump is functioning properly, see the Check the Pump section on page 11.
2.1.4 Caring for the Cart and its Components
The cart and its components should be wiped down with a clean cloth dampened with a cleaning solution such as soap and
water, or as per hospital cleaning instructions.
2.1.5 Caring for the Air-Charged Transducer Cable
The risk of patient to patient cross-contamination with sterile single-use air-charged catheters, using sterile technique, is
negligible. Any procedure in high-risk settings with body fluids and skin-to-skin contact increases the risk of contamination
of non-disposable components.
The following steps should be performed after each patient use:
• Air-charged catheters are single patient use only. Discard after use.
• Replace the tethered protective cap to the transducer housing via Luer Lock to protect the transducer.
• Spray or wet-wipe the transducer/cable with a hospital-grade, broad-
spectrum disinfectant that covers
standard potential pathogens as well as HIV, HBV, HCV, VRE, MSRA, MSRE, Pseudomona
Mycobacterium.
• Wipe the transducer/cable until dry.
To check if the pump is functioning properly, see the Check the Pump section on page 11.
2.2 BATTERY - CHARGING AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
2.2.1 Charging the Battery
The Urocap™ IV and the UDS Roam™ each contain rechargeable batteries. The battery status is visible in the Device
Manager. For information on battery status messages, see the Equipment Status Indicators and Buttons section on page
To charge the
plug one end of the power supply cord into the device and the other end into
an electrical outlet.
• To charge the UDS Roam™, place the UDS Roam™ securely into the
Hub. Ensure that the
Hub is connected to a power source. Plug one end of the power supply cord into the bottom of the
Hub and the other end into an electrical outlet. Switch the
Hub ON with the power switch at the
