When a user has a message,
the display shows the name or
extension of the caller and, on
MLX telephones, the time and
date the message was left.
Messages can be sent from
inside extensions, by an
operator, by a fax machine, or, if
the extension has voice mail, by
outside callers.
On MLX telephones, an unread
message is marked with an
asterisk (
). On analog multiline
telephones, an unread
message is also marked with an
asterisk, but no message
information is shown.
Messages can be of the
