Engine will not go to high idle.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
No signal from hand or foot throttle; No power to control module;
Engine speed sensor is damaged; Lack of fuel supply.
CHECKS
Do hand and foot throttle operate correctly?
Yes
No
Check for 12 volts DC input at electronic fuel control module or
engine control module TB1 for N14-C450 engine. (See Te s t
4.)
Check for 500 ohms at hand or
foot throttle potentiometer.

Check relay operation.
Check for voltage at TB1-3 and TB1-4 on
engine control module. (See Te st
4.)
Yes
No
Check wiring.
Replace hand or foot
throttle potentiometer.
Repair or replace wiring, EFC module.
Check wiring to and from
EFC actuator.
Ok
Repair or replace actuator.
