12 Maintenance and Troubleshooting
CLEAN THE PYCNOMETER
The exterior casing of the pycnometer may be cleaned using a clean, lint-free cloth, dampened with
isopropyl alcohol (IPA), a mild detergent solution, a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, or a detergent
that is not corrosive to aluminum.
Do not immerse the pycnometer or the power cord in any liquids. Doing so could result
in electrical shock to personnel or damage to the unit.
Do not allow liquid to penetrate the casing of the pycnometer. Doing so could result in
damage to the unit.
DECONTAMINATION OF THE PYCNOMETER
Always wear personal protection equipment appropriate for the type and level of con-
tamination.
In addition to following the instructions to clean the pycnometer, service personnel should use
compressed air to decontaminate internal components.
