Chapter 2 Getting Started
12 Lynx II DSA User's Manual - 7096089
If needed, review the Setup section starting in System Setup on page 25 and the browser-
based network user interface in Web-Based Operation starting on page 70. The
Communications Setup appendix starting on page 153 includes a Quick Setup summary of
communication connections, helpful to Network Administrators.
The assumption is made here that your Lynx II and your computer are now connected,
either directly or through a network, and that your browser is displaying the default Lynx
II Web Client application similar to the figure shown below.
Change your Administrator Password and Login Option
From the Navigator view, select Maintenance | Security. Enter the old password;
unless the password has been changed, the factory-reset value is password. Enter the new
password value, up to 16 alpha-numeric characters. Click on “Web site login required”
and then press the Update button to push the new settings to the Lynx II.
Close the browser to disconnect from the Lynx II. Next time the Lynx II is accessed with a
new browser session, the new login credentials will be required. The name is always
Administrator, but the password must be the value specified in the previous step.
Change Network Ethernet IP Address
From the Navigator view, select Maintenance | Network Settings. The current
Ethernet IP Address, Gateway, and Subnet mask will be displayed. Change settings
according to your network requirements. Enable DHCP if the IP address will be
automatically assigned by your network’s DHCP server. Click the Save button to save all
changes.
If the Network Settings have changed, communication to your Lynx II will likely stop
until your browser is redirected to the new settings.
