14 Replace the covers per procedure, Cover Replacement (on page 53).
15 Operate the incline through its entire range to ensure proper operation.
Replacing the Incline Motor
Procedure
1 Remove the front, side, and rear covers.
2 Remove the lower PCA cover as per procedure, Replacing the Lower PCA and Battery Bracket (on
page 164)
3 Remove the flat belt keeper bracket.
4 Lift up on the stair arms while removing the left and right flat belts off the lower pulley while gently setting
the stair arm down.
WARNING: Removing the flat belt protects against personal injury due to accidental arm and step
movement.
5 Disconnect the incline motor cable connector from the lower PCA and detach the cable from the lower
PCA battery bracket cable retainer. Remove the cable from the frame attachment cable clips.
6 Remove the incline motor actuator tube from the lift platform mounting bracket. Remove the clevis and
hitch pin. The gas shock is under compression pushing the lift platform down to the level 1 position.
Grasp the front of the lift platform and slightly move up/down to free the clevis pin for removal. Continue
to hold the platform while lowering it too the stop.
TIP: A ratcheting strap can be used to hold and lower the lift platform during the removal procedure. If the
lift platform has bottomed out causing the pin to be stuck in place, you can use a ratcheting strap to slightly
raise the lift platform freeing the pin for removal.
