8.2 Disinfecting
1. Follow the instructions for use for the disinfectant.
2. Disinfect the device and its accessories as described in the table:

The device and accessories must not be sterilized.

3.Rinse thoroughly with water
4.Allow to dry at room temperature
Temperature probes (red/blue) with cable As required
1.Discard probe cover and dispose of it
2.Moisten a soft cloth with disinfectant (active ingredient:
70 % isopropanol)
3.Wipe over temperature probe
4.Shake out temperature probe so that no liquid remains
in it
5.Allow to air-dry for approx. 30 minutes
Probe holder (red/blue) As required
1.➔ Removing the probe holder
2.Moisten a cotton bud with disinfectant (active
ingredient: 70 % isopropanol)
3.Wipe over the inner surfaces of the probe holder
4.Allow to air-dry for approx. 30 minutes
In-ear thermometer, cable, measuring
head and lens
As required
1.Discard probe cover and dispose of it
2. Wipe over in-ear thermometer several times with a
cloth moistened with alcohol (70 % isopropanol) so that
all surfaces are visibly moist for at least one minute
3. Make sure that the lens at the tip of the measuring
head does not have any fingerprints or marks on it
4.Allow the in-ear thermometer to dry completely in air

2.Moisten a cotton bud with disinfectant (active
ingredient: quaternary ammonium compounds)
3.Wipe over surfaces
