3. Select NCU 720.1 with the left mouse button, hold the mouse button down and drag to
the "Station design" station window.
After you release the mouse button, configure in the dialog box the interface properties of
processor CP 840D sl located on NCU 720.1 (see next chapter).
7.1.4 Configuring the properties of the network interfaces
Introduction
In the STEP7 project, configure the following network interfaces you want to use to reach the
NCU 7X0:
• PROFIBUS DP, only with machine control panel for PROFIBUS (see

• Ethernet
• integrated PROFIBUS
When creating a new project using the catalog, the configuration of the PROFIBUS interface
is called automatically.
