Remove the top moulding from the printer (see
Top Cover
, page 46).

Place the top moulding (Figure 54 (

)) face down on a clean level surface. Protect the keypad membrane
(

) from damage and contamination.

Remove and retain the securing nuts and washers (

) and the screw (
5
) which holds the keypad plate (

) in
position.

Remove the keypad plate from the top moulding, complete with the LCD panel assembly (

) and backlight
inverter (

).

Remove and retain the four nuts securing the LCD panel assembly to the keypad plate. Remove the LCD
panel and backlight inverter (these two items are supplied as one complete assembly). Note the orientation
of the backlight inverter in its housing for Installation.
Installation
To refit the LCD and backlight panel assembly, proceed as follows:

Fit the LCD panel (Figure 54 (

)) to the keypad plate (

) and secure it using the four nuts removed at

Fit the keypad plate (

) in position on the top moulding (

) ensuring that the backlight inverter is placed
correctly in its housing and the seal (

) is seated correctly.

Secure the keypad plate to the top moulding using the screw (

) and nuts and washers (

Fit the top moulding to the printer and reconnect the vent tube and cables and earth strap that were
disconnected at

Remove the keypad plate from the printer (see
LCD and Backlight Removal
, page 115).

Peel the keypad (Figure 54 (

)) from the keypad plate (

).
Installation

Clean the keypad plate (Figure 54 (
3
)) to remove any old adhesive left by the old keypad.

Remove the backing from the new keypad and fix it in position on the keypad plate.

Refit the keypad plate (see
LCD and Backlight Installation
, page 115).
