ISE Firmware Upgrade
To update the ISE MRC firmware prior to system initialization, click here in the To update the MRC FW image
now, click here
message. The view changes to the
Upload / Upgrade Firmware
page as shown below. This view
identifies the installed firmware so a determination of whether to perform a firmware upgrade can be made.

Full details on the update procedure are provided in “MRC Firmware Upgrade” on page 129. An abbreviated
list of quick start steps follows:
1. Locate the MRC upgrade file (.zip) on X-IO’s download Web site and download it to a location on the local
network.
2. Unzip the upgrade file (.zip).
3. Upload the MRC firmware upgrade file,
controller.fw
, from the unzipped folder on the local network to resi-
dent memory of the MRC to which the browser session is linked. The following example demonstrates a
suitable command with parameters and destination path:
scp <mrc_firmware_file_name> <user_name>@<mrc_host_address>:/upgrade/controller
where
<mrc_host_address>
is the host name or IP address entered into the browser address line.
4. Answer any security questions and, when prompted, enter the user ID’s password.
Other services such as
sftp
can be used to upload the MRC firmware file. The Web-Mgt can be used to
upload the file. A file upload through the Web-Mgt is considerably slower than through
scp
or a similar
method. Refresh the
Upload / Upgrade Firmware
view by refreshing the browser (
F5
), and the upgrade file
name appears in the
Current File:
field of this view.
