Creating Hosts
Creating hosts using the Web-Mgt and the CLI is detailed in “Web-Mgt” below and “Command Line Interface
(CLI)” on page 63 respectively. LUN assignments can be changed using the
E
DIT Web-Mgt interface to avoid
default luns assignments (see Figure 59 on page 87).
Note. When creating hosts on an ISE not connected to the target hosts, use the CLI interface (page 63).
Orchestrator
To create hosts through Orchestrator, select

Web-Mgt
1. Select
Hosts

create host
from the navigation bar on the Web-Mgt and the
Host Configuration
screen
opens as shown below.

2. In the Name field, enter a unique alphanumeric string up to thirty-two characters long for the host being
created. The name cannot begin with a numeric character and may contain special characters except
those listed in “Reserved Characters” on page 29.
3. Select the operating system type for this host.
4. Select the HBA ports to be contained in this host from the
Available HBA Ports
list containing all HBA port
WWIDs that the ISE detected on the network. Use
C
TRL or
S
HIFT to select multiple WWIDs.
