5 AC 800F Functional Description
5.1 Power supply modules
When using the power supply module SA 801F or SD 802F together
with the CPU board PM 803F, a maximum of 3 Profibus modules
FI 830F can be supported.
Use the power supply module SA 811F or SD 812F with software
version 7.1 and higher for running a maximum of 4 Profibus modules
FI 830F.
The power supply modules SA 801F, SA 811F, SD 802F and SD 812F power the
AC 800F CPU board and all modules plugged in its slots E1, E2 and F1 ... F4. The
power supply modules SA 811F and SD 812F have an increased output power as
compared to the SA 801F and SD 802F modules. This ensures that sufficient reserve
capacity is available for future system extensions.
The modules have an overcurrent delimiter and are permanently short-circuit proof.
The modules provide status signals indicating the status of the power supply to
enable the operating system to react on power failures or drops in due time.
Additionally, they can bridge power failures for at least 20 ms.
Plug the power supply modules in the first slot on the left hand side
called slot P, only. Do not plug in any other slot.
Warning!
A protective circuit prevents that the power supply starts up when it is
not connected in the proper slot. The Power LED, however, will only
light up when the power supply is working properly. This means that
no indicator lights up when the power supply is connected to the mains
while it is outside the AC 800F housing. Power supply modules
SA 801F and SA 811F lead hazardous voltages!
