5 AC 800F Functional Description
5-32
This completes the setup. After confirmation with OK you can activate the connection
to the Freelance Diagnosis in the main menu via Call
Connect To.
The settings shown above can be saved as a .ht file under File, Save As. When
calling up the terminal program next time you can directly start the this .ht file by
double-clicking on the icon. The settings made are immediately active. If you do not
save the settings, they have to be remade after each start.
For details on the terminal emulation refer to your Microsoft Windows User's
Guide.
5.4.2 Hardware self-test
The system messages of the AC 800F can be monitored via the diagnostic interface
on the power supply module. The switch-on sequence is triggered by switching on the
supply voltage or pressing the Reset switch for more than 4 seconds. The AC 800F
performs a cold restart.
Behavior and system messages during "1st Stage"
In the first part of the boot sequence called the 1st Stage the AC 800F performs a
self-test of the most important hardware components on the CPU board. The
AC 800F shows the version number of the 1st Stage software and the EPROM
version in the header of the 1st Stage message. While the 1st Stage is in progress,
the Failure, Run/Stop and Prim/Sec LEDs permanently light up orange.
There are two ways of handling these tests:
1. The program is finished in a normal way, i.e. all components on the CPU board
are ready to operate. The Boot Loader is activated.
2. The test is stopped. The error is so serious that the CPU board function is no
longer ensured. The Failure LED changes and is then permanently lighted red.
Please contact your service. Observe the following information about the error
memory.
