6.2.2 Hardware structure
The 10Base2 module EI 801F comprises the following hardware components:
• LAN controller/coprocessor, adapted to Intel RISC-CPU
32-bit data bus, 32-bit address bus, DMA, interrupt
• Serial interface/Manchester encoder for generating a serial bit stream
• Transceiver for coupling to the bus structure
• Pulse transformer for electrical isolation of the signal cables
• DC/DC converter for electrically isolated power supply of the transceiver.
• EEPROM for configuration data
• Isolator for electrical isolation of the bus signals
• Buffer battery holder with polarity reversal protection and monitoring circuit
• Coaxial socket for 10Base2 connection, 50 ohms
