7.2.2 Hardware structure
• Profibus protocol layers 1 and 2 according to DIN 19245/EN 50170 in a Siemens
ASPC2 ASIC.
• Profibus protocol stack on a Siemens 80C165 controller.
• 256 Kbytes main memory, static RAM with parity check for data protection.
• Shared memory, 256 Kbytes static RAM with parity check for data protection.
• Hardware configuration and diagnostic data are saved in a serial 4Kbit EEPROM
with 10

write cycles.
• 512 Kbytes flash EPROM for 80C165 firmware and Profibus stack. Update
possible without replacing the EPROM. Direct access from AC 800F to firmware
memory of FI 830F, to enable an update while installed in the system.
• Online self-test and diagnosis of the FI 830F module via shared memory.
• Plugging and removal of the module while the system is running thanks to slide
lock.
• Operating voltage monitoring on the FI 830F module.
• Supply of Profibus cable termination is short-circuit-proof and current-delimited.
• Ready for Profibus master redundancy.
• Synchronization through interrupts.
• Operating temperature range from 0 ... 60 °C, no fan required.
