8.3.4 Connecting the radio clock to the AC 800F
The radio clock can be connected to any AC 800F of the Freelance 2000 system. The
AC 800F will then synchronize the times of all process and operator stations con-
nected to the system bus.
Make sure that the radio clock is receiving time signals!
If this is not the case, the AC 800F internal crystal clock takes over
time synchronization.
Link the radio clock with the diagnostic interface on the power supply module of the
AC 800F as shown in Fig. 8-8.
Fig. 8-8 Linking the radio clock with the AC 800F
A cable with the terminal assignment seen in Fig. 8-9 is needed for linking the radio
clock with the AC 800F.
When using a cable DSU 141,
open the connector hood, discon-
nect surplus links, and cut off or in-
sulate surplus wires.
Use a commercial adapter for ad-
aptation to the 25-pole connector
of the radio clock.

The radio clock and the AC 800F are electrically connected. If protec-
tive separation from mains is required, mount a radio clock with a 24 V
power supply and power it with extra low voltage with protective separa-
tion from other circuits.
