4 Cabling the AC 800F
4-37
Often a network already existing in the building is integrated in the new network. In
this case, the appropriate 10BaseT installation sockets are already available in the
room. You simply have to connect your network to theses sockets.
Example:
The following components are needed for a network with three nodes connected to an
already existing network:
3 10BaseT cable not crossed
1 10BaseT cable, crossed
1 10BaseT hub (4-fold)
Fig. 4-20 Cabling a 10BaseT network with 3 nodes
When cabling the 10BaseT network observe the following instructions:
Make sure to use the proper cable type: crossed cable for direct connection of two
nodes, uncrossed cable when using a hub.
Do not exceed the max. permissible 10BaseT cable length of 100 m. Note that the
sum of all cables between two nodes must be considered.
Observe the min. bending radius of 3 4 cm (depending on vendor)
