3.3.6 Mounting fieldbus modules
The following fieldbus modules can be mounted in the AC 800F:
• CAN module FI 810F
for connecting intelligent field instruments with a
CAN interface; the module provides three CAN
interfaces and, thus, ensures compatibility with
the Freelance 2000 process station.
• Serial module FI 820F
for connecting intelligent field instruments with
serial interface. The field instruments can be
connected via RS232, RS422 or RS485, as
required. Communication can be realized using
the Modbus protocol.
When using the power supply module SA 801F or SD 802F together
with the CPU board PM 803F, a maximum of 3 Profibus modules
FI 830F can be supported.
Use the power supply module SA 811F or SD 812F with software version
7.1 and higher for running a maximum of 4 Profibus modules FI 830F.
