7 Functional Description of the Fieldbus Modules
7-5
Deinstalling a fieldbus module
1. Unlock the slide-lock to be able to access the upper locking screw.
Use an appropriate tool to slide the lock to the right hand side until the screw head
is completely accessible and the Lock inscription is no longer visible.
This signals to the AC 800F
that the module is to be
removed. The AC 800F and
the peripheral devices
connected to the fieldbus can
be set to a defined (safe)
state.

Only if all LEDs of the fieldbus module are extinguished it is ensured that there is
no more data traffic between the AC 800F and the other fieldbus nodes, and that
the module has a high resistance towards the address/data bus of the AC 800F.
2. Remove the link between the AC 800F fieldbus module and the fieldbus. Follow
the relevant installation instructions.
3. Undo the screws at the module top and bottom. Remove the module.
4. Cover the empty slot with a cap (dummy panel AM 895F) to close the housing.
When deinstalling a module, observe the warnings and cautions for module
installation.
