Lesson 7 Executing the DAC Distortion Test
281
Test Methodology
This section specifies the processing of the captured data after
uploading and before performing any calculations.
You can specify averaging per waveform. This requires that you
source the same sine wave several times.
Calculation Parameter
DISTORTION BW: This is the frequency range of the FFT results that
is passed to the distortion calculation.
# HARMS: The number of harmonics to be used in the distortion
parameter calculations (THD).
# CYCLS: Enter the number of cycles in the captured waveform. As
the number of data points to be captured is even (2
n
), the number
of cycles should be odd in order to support coherent sampling.
FUNDWIDTH lets you define a larger part (more than one frequency
bin) of the spectrum as part is the fundamental. Normally, the
fundwidth is set to 1 (one frequency bin), but it can be set to a
higher odd integer value (3, 5, 7, ...), if required.
Datalog
The DATALOG section provides checkboxes which allow to control
the storage of captured and calculated waveforms in the Event
Datalog file.
