2-4 Compiling and Linking Test
Method Programs
Both the Project window and Text Editor window have compilation
and building functions.
Compiling a Class Source File
To compile a class source file in the Project window, do as follows:
1 Select a class to be compiled from the Class List area in the
Project window.
2 Select Compile from the Build pull-down menu. The Compile
window appears as shown in the following figure.

To compile the currently-loaded class source file in the Text Editor
window, select Compile from the Compile pull-down menu of the
Text Editor window.
If any errors occur, the error messages are displayed in the
Compile window.
To quickly ascertain where the error occurred, do as follows in the
Compile window:
1 Click anywhere on an error message line beginning with "Error
XXX:" (XXX means an error number). The Editor
button in the
Compile window activates.
2 Click on the Editor button. If the Text Editor window is not
already open, it opens to display the class source file that has the
specified error and the cursor is positioned where the error
occurred.
3 To perform this for the next error, repeat the above procedure
again.
