Lesson 2 Introduction to the Test System
23
2-1 Components of SOC Devices
Todays integrated circuits are rarely restricted to pure digital
building blocks, but represent so-called System on a Chip (SOC)
devices.
Components of a System on a Chip
In addition to a digital processor, memory, and interfaces, System
on a Chip (SOC) devices may, for example, contain:
Video generator or video sampler
Audio generator and/or audio sampler
Frequency synthesizer and phase-locked loops
Analog amplifiers and attenuators
Digital to analog converters (DACs), analog to digital converters
(ADCs) and analog buffers are typical mixed-signal components of
an SOC device.
With its digital and mixed-signal test capabilities, the Agilent
93000 SOC Series addresses the test requirements of todays and
tomorrows SOC devices.
