ADC Linearity Characteristics
The parameters that describe the linearity of an ADC have the
same names as those used for describing the linearity of a DAC.
But they are calculated differently.
ADC Static Parameters (Linearity)
A ramp signal is most often used for ADC linearity tests as it
provides a uniform distribution of samples and therefore a
uniform measurement precision.
However, ADC linearity can also be measured by applying a sine
wave.
ADC Differential Non-Linearity, DNL
ADC DNL is calculated from the transition voltages which are in
turn calculated from the histogram of the captured data points.
ADC Differential Non-Linearity, DNL
•Differential Non-Linearity (DNL)
•Integral Non-Linearity (INL)
•Offset Error
•Full Scale Gain Error
•LSB Gain Error
