11 If required, clean the fiber optic connection using one of the following two
methods:
a If you are approved service personnel, use authorized practices to handle,
inspect, and clean the fiber optic connection.
b If you are not approved service personnel, have approved service personnel
trained to work with optic fiber clean the fiber optic connection.
See DLP 134 for more information about fiber optic handling, inspection, and
cleaning.
12 Connect the OptiTap (DLP 124) fiber optic cable.
13 Verify the ONT LEDs, voltage status, and optical signal levels (DLP 127).
14 Activate and test the services (DLP 128).
15 Close the TELCO access door on the ONT and secure using the TELCO 216 tool.
16 Close the left customer access door on the ONT.
17 Close the front cover on the cabinet/enclosure.
18 STOP. This procedure is complete.
Danger — Fiber optic cables transmit invisible laser light. To avoid eye
damage or blindness, never look directly into fibers, connectors, or
adapters.
Warning — Be careful to maintain a bend radius of no less than 1.5
inches (3.8 cm) when connecting the fiber optic cable. Too small of a
bend radius in the cable can result in damage to the optic fiber.
