ONT Product Information Guide
Procedure
Use this procedure to replace an I-010G-A indoor ONT.
1 Deactivate the ONT services (DLP 131). If you are using the SLID feature, this step
is not required. The ONT and the services can remain in service (IS).
2 At the subscriber site, remove the ONT from its wall mount (if applicable) and
disconnect the power and Ethernet cables; see Figure NTP 119-1.

3 Disconnect the SC/APC fiber optic cable from the I-010G-A indoor ONT.
4 Replace the I-010G-A indoor ONT with a new unit.
5 Reattach the power and Ethernet cables to the ONT.
6 Reconnect the power cable to the power converter and then the electrical outlet.
7 Verify that the unit is powered. If there is no power, press the On/Off button.
8 If used, configure the SLID (DLP 129).
9 If required, have approved service personnel who are trained to work with optic
fiber clean the fiber optic connection. See DLP 134 for more information about
fiber optic handling, inspection, and cleaning.
Danger — Fiber optic cables transmit invisible laser light. To avoid eye
damage or blindness, never look directly into fibers, connectors, or
adapters.
Note — A new SLID or the old SLID may be used with the replacement
ONT. If a new SLID is used, the new SLID must also be programmed at
the P-OLT using TL1 or a network manager. If the old SLID is used, no
changes need to be made at the P-OLT; see the operations and
maintenance documentation for the OLT for more details.
