Fault Messages
Overview
All faults, warnings, or messages displayed on the operator interface should be
thoroughly documented by the user prior to resetting those messages. This will
assist maintenance personnel in correcting problems and ensuring they do not
recur. There are three types of faults – system faults, logic faults, and power cell
faults.
Fault Messages
System Faults
ATTENTION: Investigate all faults before resetting the drive.
Resetting the drive into a fault condition that has been unresolved can
propagate the faults and cause an increased level of damage to the equipment.
No. System Fault Message Description Recommended Action(s)
1 Motor Over Current 2 The output current on the motor side, measured through the current
sensor in the power cell cabinet, has exceeded the Output Short-Circuit
Fault Threshold (P213) for the duration set in Filter Time for Output
Short-Circuit (P212).
• Verify the sensor in the cabinet.
• Check parameter Output Short-Circuit Fault Threshold
(P213) is set correctly.
• Check the hardware on the AT board.
• Transient loading, verify the load in the field.
• Check parameters Motor HECS Ratio (P197) and Motor
HECS Burden Resistor (P198) are set correctly.
• Check internal motor for failure.
2 Motor Over Current 1 A motor over load has been detected. The output over current
condition is calculated using the A, C phase stator current and
algorithm based on the over current trip (Motor Overload Trip Threshold
(P216) and Motor Minimum Overload Current (P214)) and the delay
set in Motor Overload Cycle Time (P215).
• Verify the sensor in the cabinet.
• Check parameters Motor Minimum Overload Current
(P214) and Motor Overload Trip Threshold (P216) are
set correctly.
• Check the hardware on the AT board.
• Overloading, verify the load in the field.
• Check parameters Motor HECS Ratio (P197) and Motor
HECS Burden Resistor (P198) are set correctly.
• Check internal motor for failure.
3 Fan Failure in Fan Group #1 The drive has tripped because the fans in transformer cabinet 1 are in
abnormal status for the duration set in Fan Control TX Cabinet Fan Fault
Trip Delay (P116).
In non-redundant fan mode (Fan Control Mode (P094) = 0), there are
one or more fans with abnormal status. In redundant fan mode (Fan
Control Mode (P094) = 1 or 2), there are two or more fans with
abnormal status.
• Check Fan Control Redundant Fan Working Time (P101)
and set a greater value.
• Check Fan Control Group #1 Fan Number (P095) and
verify the number of fans.
• Check operation of fans in transformer cabinet 1.
• Check the status of the fan feedback relay and
command execution relay. Both status should be
identical.
4 Output Over Voltage The voltage on the motor side, measured through the VSB, has
exceeded the Output Over Voltage Fault Threshold (P222) for the
duration set in Filter Time for Output Over Voltage (P221).
• Check parameters Output Over Voltage Fault Threshold
(P222)
and Filter Time for Output Over Voltage (P221)
are set correctly.
• Verify the VSB, resistor, and wire are not damaged.
• Check hardware on the AT board.
• Check terminals (P5-1, P5-5, and P5-6) on the control
box.
