9.7. Water Level Sensor
An analog water level sensor supplied by 5 V is used. This sensor ensures instant
determination of water level by means of frequency values it generates corresponding to the
built up pressure. There are frequency values corresponding to all pressure values. Infinite
number of levels can be determined by an analog water level sensor. Subject to the selected
program, temperature and auxilliary function, water levels vary according to the wash criteria
of designed programme.
Analog water level sensors, in general sense, are elements to turn pressure-displacement.
Analog water level sensors generate frequency modulation as an output.
It basically consists of 2 capacitors, 1 coil and a rotator on itself or on the control system it is
connected to.
Pressure increase pushes a ferrite part in the sensor, into the coil. Thus, coil winding's
L(inductance) value changes and the value of the sensor-rotator system changes. In this
way, analog value of pressure can be measured.
Quantity of hot water to be taken in the machine in the programmes is controlled by water
counters. The task of water level sensor is to perform basic controls such as deciding to take
in water again, check the heater safety level, door opening level or foam level.
If there is an error in water counters or connections thereof, water is taken in by water level
sensor.

Cable inputs

When empty, 625 ± 2 Hz should be read as
Frequency value from the Data and GND tips.
Operation Voltage : 220 / 250VAC
Operation Temperatures : T100
Can be checked by measuring input and output
voltages.
Also, control can be made between inputs and
outputs by short circuit control.
