12.1.1 WAN Ethernet Connections
You can configure the following WAN Ethernet connection types:

The device connected to an external DSL modem and using PPPoE – see
Section
12.1.1.1 on page 135

The device connected to an external Cable modem/fiber transceiver without
authentication – see Section
12.1.1.2 on page 137

The device connected to an external Cable modem/fiber transceiver using L2TP – see
Section
12.1.1.3 on page 140

Automatic IP address using DHCP – see Section 12.1.1.4 on page 143

Manual IP address – see Section 12.1.1.5 on page 144
12.1.1.1 External DSL Modem using PPPoE
The procedure below describes how to configure an Internet connection using PPPoE
when the device is connected to an external DSL modem.
 To create a PPPoE connection for external DSL modem:
1. On the 'Network Connections' screen, click the New icon; the 'Connection Wizard'
screen appears.
2. Select the Internet Connection option, and then click Next.
