22.2.2 Verifying Radial Vibration, Acceleration, and Velocity
Set up the test equipment as shown, wiring the power supply polarity for positive or negative bias
transducers. The figure shows the wiring for negative bias sensors, reverse the “-“ and “+” leads
when verifying IEPE sensors. Set the power supply to the transducer Center Gap or Bias voltage.

NOTE!
When testing IEPE powered sensors the UMM will drive a small constant current out the
SIG terminal which can cause an error in the function generator output. If this error is a
problem, convert the transducer power to “Hi-Z” for the verification.
Set the function generator for the desired amplitude with a frequency well inside your band-pass
filtered region so the filter does not significantly attenuate the signal. Table 22-1 shows some
examples.
