QualityofService(QoS)providesyouwiththeabilitytospecifyparametersonmultiplequeuesforincreased
throughputandbetterperformanceofdifferentiatedwirelesstrafficlikeVoice‐over‐IP(VoIP),othertypesof
audio,video,andstreamingmedia,aswellastraditionalIPdataovertheUAP.
ConfiguringQoSon
theUAPconsistsofsettingparametersonexistingqueuesfordifferenttypesofwireless
traffic,andeffectivelyspecifyingminimumandmaximumwaittimes(throughContentionW indows)for
transmission.ThesettingsdescribedhereapplytodatatransmissionbehaviorontheAPonly,nottothatof
theclientstations.
APEnhancedDistributed
ChannelAccess(EDCA)ParametersaffecttrafficflowingfromtheAPtotheclient
station.
StationEnhancedDistributedChannelAccess(EDCA)Parametersaffecttr afficflowingfromtheclientstationto
theAP.
ThedefaultvaluesfortheAPandstationEDCAparametersarethosesuggestedbytheWi‐FiAllianceinthe
WMM
specification.Innormalusethesevaluesshouldnotneedtobechanged.Changingthesevalueswill 
affecttheQoSprovided.
