Tosorttheinformationshowninthetablesbyaparticularindicator,clickthecolumnlabelbywhichyouwant
toorderthings.Forexample,ifyouwanttoseethetablerowsorderedbysignalstrength,clicktheSignal
columnlabel.Theentrieswillbesortedbysignalstrength.
ConfiguringandViewingChannelManagementSettings
WhenChannelManagementisenabled,theUAPautomaticallyassignsradiochannels usedbyclusteredaccess
points.Theautomaticchannelassignmentreducesmutualinterference(orinterferencewithotheraccess
pointsoutsideofitscluster)andmaximizesWiFibandwidthtohelpmaintaintheefficiencyofcommunication
overthewirelessnetwork.
Youmust
startchannelmanagementtogetautomaticchannelassignments;itisdisabledbydefaultonanew
AP.
Ata specifiedinterval,theChannelManagermapsAPstochanneluseandmeasuresinterferencelevelsinthe
cluster.Ifsignificantchannelinterferenceisdetected,theChannelManagerautomaticallyreassignssomeor
all
oftheAPstonewchannelsperanefficiencyalgorithm(orautomatedchannelpl an).IftheChannelManager
determinesthatachangeisnecessary,thatinformationissenttoallmembersoftheclusterandasyslog
messageisgeneratedindicatingthesenderAP,newandoldchannelassignments.
TheChannel
Managementpageshowsprevious,current,andplannedchannelassignmentsforclustered
accesspoints.Bydefault,automaticchannelassignmentisdisabled.Youcanstartchannelmanagementto
optimizechannelusageacrosstheclusteronascheduledinterval.
Toconfigureandviewthechannelassignmentsfortheclustermembers,clicktheChannelManagement
tab.
Rate Thespeedatwhichthisaccesspointistransferringdatatothespecifiedclient.
Thedatatransmissionrateismeasuredinmegabitspersecond(Mbps).
Thisvalueshouldfallwithintherangeoftheadvertisedratesetforthemodeinuseon
theaccesspoint.Forexample,6to
54Mbpsfor802.11a.
Signal Indicatesthestrengthoftheradiofrequency(RF)signaltheclientreceivesfromthe
accesspoint.
Themeasureusedforthisisava lueknownasReceivedSignalStrengthIndication(RSSI),
andwillbeavaluebetween0and100.
RSSIisdeterminedbyamechanismimplemented
onthenetworkinterfacecard(NIC)of
theclientstation.
RxTotal Indicatesnumberoftotalpacketsreceivedbytheclientduringthecurrentsession.
TxTotal Indicatesnumberoftotalpacketstransmittedtotheclientduringthissession.
ErrorRate Indicatesthepercentageoftimeframesar edroppedduringtransmissiononthis
access
point.
