Theupgradeprocessmaytakeseveralminutesduringwhichtimetheaccesspointwillbeunavailable.Do
notpowerdowntheaccesspointwhiletheupgradeisinprocess.Whentheupgradeiscomplete,the
accesspointrestarts.TheAPresumesnormaloperationwiththesameconfigurationsettingsithadbefore

theupgrade.
5. Toverifythatthefirmwareupgradecompletedsuccessfully, checkthefirmwareversionshownonthe
Upgradepage(ortheBasicSettingspage).Iftheupgradewassuccessful,theupdatedversionnameor
numberisindicated.

Wirelesspacketcaptureoperatesintwomodes:
•Capturefi lemode
•Remotecapturemode
Forcapturefilemode,capturedpacketsarestoredinafileontheAccessPoint.TheAPcantransferthefileto
aTFTPserver.Thefileisformattedinpcapformatandcanbeexaminedusingtoolssuch
asWiresharkand
OmniPeek.
Forremotecapturemode,thecapturedpacketsareredirectedinrealtimetoanexternalPCrunningthe
Wireshark®tool.
TheAPcancapturethefollowingtypesofpack ets:
•802.11packetsreceivedandtransmittedonradiointerfaces.Packetscapturedonradiointerfacesinclude
the802.11header.
•802.3packetsreceived
andtransmittedontheEthernetinte rface.
