5.8.1 Removal of Plug-in PCBs
1. Power-down the system and set the main circuit breaker to the OFF position.
2. Remove the decorative front panel (5.1) and the RFI shield (5.2).
3. Locate the PCB(s) to be removed (Table 5-1 and Figure 5-12).
4. If the power supply is to be removed:
WARNING
High voltage is present. To prevent injury to personnel, wait at least five
minutes after powering down the system before removing cover on VNR
assembly or power supply PCB, to permit all high voltage capacitors to
completely discharge.

Loosen the panel fastener on the right side of the VNR and swing the unit away from the tack
panel.
b.
Loosen the two panel fasteners on the rear connector bulkhead and swing the panel down from the
back panel.
c.
Remove the power supply bus bar safety shield (Figure 5-15)
d.
Remove the +5 V and GND bus bar bolts that are located under the safety shield.
e.
Disconnect J2 of the internal chassis harness from P4 at the rear of the power supply PCB (Figure
5-15).
f.
Loosen the power supply captive screw in the back panel support bracket, freeing the power supply
PCB for removal from the front of the chassis (Figure 5-15).
5. Remove any front PCB interconnection cables necessary to remove the specific PCB.
6. Remove the PCB by simultaneously pulling the ejector keys on each side of the PCB until they are fully
extended (pointing away from the PCB (Figure 5-16) and pull the PCB out of the chassis. Place the
PCB in the protective shipping bag.
