6.4.2 CPU Chassis Installation
Use the following procedure to install the CPU chassis in a 19-inch NEMA cabinet.
1.
Fasten the left and right bracket supports (part of 005-019199 rack mount kit) to the 19-inch NEMA
cabinet. LEAVE THE LEFT REAR NUT AND BOLT LOOSE AT THIS TIME (Figure 6-5).
2.
Install the guide pins for the decorative front panel (Figure 6-6).
WARNING
The chassis may weigh up to 50 kgs (111 lbs) when fully loaded. Two
people are required to safely place the chassis on the bracket slide
supports when installing the chassis in the cabinet.
3.
With one person on each side of the chassis, slide it onto the rack rails and fasten it to the rails (two
screws per rail in front, one screw per rail in the rear, Figure 6-7).
4.
Adjust the left bracket slide support at the rear so that it supports its share of the chassis weight
WITHOUT CAUSING THE CHASSIS TO TWIST. Now tighten the nut and bolt left loose during the
left bracket installation in step 1.
5.
Install the decorative front cover (005-018672 earthtone) by lining up the front panel release latches
with the guide pins on the cabinet side rails and press the front panel on the guide pins until locked in
place.
