3.
Insert the negative (black) meter probe into the (G) ground connection on the receptacle.
4.
Insert the positive (red) meter probe into voltage connections x, y, and z on the receptacle one at a
time. In each case the meter should read the single phase voltage in Table 6-1.
5.
Remove the negative (black) meter probe from the (G) ground connection.
6.
Insert the negative (black) meter probe into the other voltage connections one at a time.
7.
The voltages should read the phased voltages of Table 6-1.
8.
Remove both meter probes from the receptacle.
The following steps are for U.S.A. models only.
9.
Insert the negative (black) meter probe into the (W) neutral connection on the receptacle.
10.
Insert the positive (red) meter probe into the (G) ground connection on the receptacle. The meter
should read close to zero volt.
11.
Remove the positive (red) meter probe from the (G) ground connection.
12.
Insert the positive (red) meter probe into voltage connections x, y, and z on the receptacle one at a
time. In each case the meter should read the single phase voltage in Table 6-1.
13.
Remove both meter probes from the receptacle.
14.
Inform the customer if the line voltage is not within the acceptable margins listed in Table 6-1.
CAUTION
To prevent equipment damage, do not allow the customer to connect any
equipment until the line voltage is within specification.
