5.10.2 Replacement of the Internal CPU Chassis VNR Harness
1.
Position the new internal chassis harness in the chassis.
2.
Reconnect the following connectors of the internal chassis harness:
•
Connector 31 to the rear of the fan module (support bracket and two screws),
•
Connector P1 to the back panel pins labeled 315 of slot
6, B
side,
•
Connectors P2 and P3 to the back panel pins labeled J36 of slot
1, B
side,
•
Connector P4 to 32 on the "A" side of the rear apron of the power supply PCB,
•
Connectors P5 and P6 to the VNR.
3.
Replace all removed cable clamps.
CAUTION
The rear connector bulkhead must be closed before the VNR is swung in
place to prevent damage to the RFI fingers on the bottom of the VNR.
4.
Swing the rear connector bulkhead up until it is closed and fasten it in place by tightening the bulkhead
fasteners.
5.
Swing the VNR towards the back panel until it is closed and fasten it in place by tightening the VNR
fastener.
6.
Plug the power cord into the rear of the VNR.
7.
Reconnect the chassis power cord to a proper electrical outlet and power-up the system.
8.
Verify system operation (Section 4).
5.11 EXTERNAL VNR PLUG
Use this procedure to remove and replace the external VNR loopback plug. Make your selection according to the
system line voltage.
1.
Power-down the system and disconnect the chassis power cord from the ac electrical outlet (5.3).
WARNING
High voltage is present. To prevent injury to personnel, wait at least five
minutes after powering down the system before removing the external
VNR loopback plug.
2.
Disconnect the external VNR loopback plug from P1 of the VNR (Figure 5-20).
3.
Connect the external VNR loopback plug to P1 of the VNR.
4.
Reconnect the chassis power cord to a proper electrical outlet and power-up the system.
5.
Verify system operation (Section 4).
