APL can be enabled by performing the following steps.
1.
Load the MV/7800 SCP SYSTEM tape or the MV ADEX Model 30200 tape onto tape drive 0 of the
primary tape system. Make sure the tape is at the beginning of tape mark (BOT) and the drive is
on-line.

After SCP-CLI> is displayed on the system console, type:
This command enables the automatic program load feature for future power-ups. Once set it will remain enabled
until disabled.
NOTE
SCP-CLI> is the prompt for the system Control Program (SCP). For
more information on SCP, refer to the ECLIPSE MV/7800 Series System
Control Program manual (DGC 014-001183).

Watch the system console screen for the following message:

Enter the two digit device code of the disk subsystem that will store the operating system, and press
NEW LINE. The device code entered will now be the default device code for automatic program
loading of this operating system on subsequent power-ups. On future power-ups, the code will be
displayed in the brackets. Table 4-5 lists commonly used device codes for disk subsystems.

When SCP-CLI> reappears, enter BOOT 22 to load from the tape. If the system was loaded from the
MV/7800 SYSTEM tape, continue to step 7 when SCP-CLI> reappears.
NOTE
If the system was loaded from the MV ADEX tape, a menu will appear
that allows a choice of what to do next. (Refer to the ADEX Operator's
Guide, DGC P/N 014-000744 for additional information).
