Comparing Parametric Tests to the TDR Test
Table 6-1 provides an overall assessment of the accuracy of the TDR test and
three parametric tests (Opens, Load Coils, and RFL) at locating six common
cable faults. The table highlights both the versatility of the TDR test as well as
the complementary nature of all of the tests and their relative strengths and
weaknesses. You may want to refer to this table when trying to decide which
tests to use in a particular situation.
