Carry out the test after finishing setting the test conditions.
For safety reasons, key lock is recommended. All keys except the START key
and STOP key are disabled while the key-lock function is active.(p. 79)
5.2 Starting a Test
To prevent electric shock, check the following before starting test.
Front panel
•The DANGER lamp is
OFF.
The lamp is lit
(it is off in the Double
Action mode).
If a capacity load is applied to the tested object, the output voltage may exceed
the preset voltage, thereby damaging the equipment.
Continuous output of a high voltage may heat the bottom of the instrument. To
prevent from getting scalded, do not touch the bottom.
There is a priority hierarchy for the START keys.
Priority hierarchy: Remote Control Box > EXT I/O > Front panel of the 3174
(3174-01)
Note that when a START key with a higher priority is in use, lower-priority keys
are disabled.
