8.13 Removing and installing the counterweight
17. Attach the two leg chain sling to the lifting cable.

Use a D-shackle.
18. Attach the splitter cable to the counterweight.

Attach the hooks on the splitter cables to the
lifting eyes in the counterweight.
19. Slowly extend the boom
20. When the counterweight is above the tracks:
l
Turn the counterweight so that it can move
onto the counterweight frame.
21. Align the counterweight with the counterweight
frame.
22. Fully extend the counterweight.
23. Connect the counterweight to the frame.
a. Install the counterweight retainer plate.
b. Torque the bolts.
24. Fully retract the boom.
25. Remove the two leg chain sling and the lifting
cable.

Put them back in their drawer.
26. Turn the counterweight lifting bar back in position
and lock it with the nut.
27. Put the cable roll back in position.
