Ending procedure
1. Reinstall the drive in the library. See “Removing the tape drive from the library” on page 175.
2. Reinstall the library chassis cover. See “Removing or reinstalling the library chassis cover” on page
170.
3. Return the defective library to IBM.
Removing a stuck cartridge magazine
Complete the following steps to remove a stuck cartridge magazine from the library:
1. Turn OFF the power to the library.
2. Manually unlock the cartridge magazine and try to remove it from the library. Stop if you feel any
resistance when you pull on the magazine (see “Unlocking the cartridge magazine manually” on page
141). If you cannot remove the magazine, proceed to the next step.
3. Disconnect all cables from the rear panel of the library.
4. Remove the library cover. See “Removing or reinstalling the library chassis cover” on page 170.
5. Remove the magazine from the library and check for any damaged cartridges.
6. Reassemble the library, reversing the steps that are used to disassemble the library.
7. Return the defective library to IBM.
