Registering for support notification
Support notification registration provides email notification when new firmware levels are updated and
are available for download and installation.
To register for support notification, visit the web at: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/support/
einfo.html.
Enter your user name and password on the Appendix F, “Library Configuration Form,” on page 223.
Note: Library firmware and tape drive firmware are verified and released together. When the latest
firmware is updated, verify that all installed components such as the tape drive and library are at the
latest levels noted on the Support website. Mixing different levels of library and tape drive firmware is
not supported and might cause unpredictable results.
IBM suggests that you update library and drive firmware when new levels become available. For
instructions on updating library and drive firmware, see “Updating library and drive firmware” on page
104.
Now you are ready to use your library.
