Setting digits
Even though the parameters for the DIGits command are expressed as integers (4 to 7),
you can specify resolution using a real number. For example, to select 3H digit resolution,
let <n>
= 3.5. Internally the instrument rounds the entered parameter value to the nearest
integer.
As implied by the commands in Table 4-3, each mainframe input function can have its
own unique digits setting.
Digits programming examples
NOTE The following examples can be run from the KE2700 Instrument Driver using
the example named “Digits” in
Table H-1 of Appendix H.
Example #1 — The following commands set digits for DCV and ACI:
VOLT:DIG 5.5 ' Set DCV to 5H digits.
CURR:AC:DIG 4 ' Set ACI to 3H digits.
Example #2 — The following command sequence configures channels 101 through 110
of the Model 7700 to select 4
Η digits when they are scanned.
FUNC 'RES' (@101:110) ' Select Ω2 function.
RES:DIG 4.5,(@101:110) ' Set scan channels to 4H digits.
