NOTICE
If the ignition switch is in the ON po‐
sition, the power tailgate can oper‐
ate when the automatic shift lever is
in P (Park) or manual shift lever is in
N (Neutral).
WARNING
Never leave children or animals unat‐
tended in your vehicle. Children or
animals may operate the power tail‐
gate that could result in injury to
themselves or others, or damage
the vehicle.
NOTICE
Do not put heavy stuff on the power
tailgate when you operate the pow‐
er tailgate. Additional weight on tail‐
gate could cause damage to the sys‐
tem.
WARNING
Make sure that there are no people
or objects in the path of the power
tailgate (or smart tailgate) prior to
use. Serious injury, damage to the
vehicle or damage to surrounding
objects may result if contact with
the power tailgate (or smart tail‐
gate) occurs.
CAUTION
Do not close or open the power tail‐
gate manually. This may cause dam‐
