5-5-2. Segmented Error Compensation
In this compensation, the segments are determined, and mechanical error is compensated for each segment.
This is only effective in cases where you use a measuring unit with a reference point.
The segmented error compensation is set using the process below.
5. Settings
When the segmented error compensation value is set, the unit automatically switches to reference point
acquisition mode after the detailed settings are finished, the power is turned on, or an error is reset. (See Part
7-2-9, “Reference Point Mode (How to Use the Measuring Unit with a Reference Point)”.)
Note
A value larger than the segmented length (difference to the next input point) cannot be entered for the
compensation amount of the segmented error. If you try to enter such a value, the error sound is made.

Example (Unit: mm)
Input point 1 2
Input value for input point 1.000 1.200
Compensation value 0.4000 X
Segmented length: 1.200 – 1.00 = 0.200
Compensation amount that can be entered for X = 0.400 ±0.200 = 0.200 to 0.600
