7-2-9. Reference Point Mode
(How to Use the Measuring Unit with a Reference Point)
Can be combined with a measuring unit with a reference point.
When you use a reference point, you can relocate the machining datum point to the same position. If the tape
moved, for example, when the system power supply was off, it is possible to relocate the machining datum
point in its initial position.
Set the reference point offset using reference point position detection or by inputting an offset value.
∗ The reference point offset is the distance (L) from the reference point of the measuring unit to the ma-
chining datum point.
∗ The reference point is also used as the datum when setting segmented error compensation. Regarding the
use of a reference point when setting segmented error compensation, see “5-5-2. Segmented Error
Compensation”.

<Setting/storing a reference point offset (reference point hold)>
Set/store the reference point offset (L). When the reference point position is detected, the count is held.
By storing this value, the machining datum position is relocated.
Set the datum point in advance.
